Tuscany - A Fascinating Blend of Wine & Culture

Tuesday October 2/Monday October 8, 2012
$3,299 * Single supplement $510

It was in Tuscany-chianti classico to be exact- where Italy began its renaissance of wine. Baron Ricasoli did what he could to demand that the area producers strive for excellence in their wines and he led the way with his stellar Castello di Brolio. But it was the wine laws enacted in 1968 that propelled Italy into the forefront of world-class wines. Soon other regions followed the lead- Piedmont, Sicily, Campania, then Verona, Trentino, the list goes on and on. But Tuscany always stood out. Did it hurt having Florence with its Renaissance culture or Dante, Italy’s great literary figure and the first to use Italian vernacular instead of Latin in his writings? Whatever the reason, Tuscany continues its allure and attracts history and wine aficionados.

Join Vin on this exclusive tour. We’ll stay in Siena which surprisngly has escaped the hordes of tourists. Each day will be devoted to a different part of Tuscany including chianti classico, brunello, montepulciano and San Gimignano. Our meals will be exquisite, the winery visits special and informative. When the tour is over on October 8, you will have experienced an indepth appreciation of the best that Tuscany has to offer. We hope you’ll decide to stay in Italy to continue on Vin’s tour in Emilia Romagna.
